Bio

I have been competitive in sports all my life.  I started swimming when I was eight years old and started swimming USS for the St. Peters Rec-plex in St. Louis, MO when I was eleven.  It wasn’t until age fourteen, in high school that I began running.  While at Francis Howell High School I ran cross country and track, but continued to only swim for my club team.

Notre Dame 2004

I was the Missouri State High School Champion for cross country (00′), 1600m (01′), and 3200m (01′).  I qualified to run at the Golden West Invitational by running a 4 minute 54 second 1600m run, I ended up being ranked 9th in the Nation for High School in 2001.

As a result I received a scholarship to the University of Missouri for cross country and track.  While attending Mizzou I was 8 time all Big XII;

  • 2x Cross County
  • Mile - indoor, 1500M  outdoor NCAA Missouri XC Team 2004
  • DMR - Big XII Champions
  • 5000M - indoor
  • 2x 3000M Steeple Chase

In cross country I was a member of the NCAA qualified team placing 12th and 11th in 03′ and 04′, respectively.  I graduated in December 2005 with a Bachelors in Science degree for Nutrition and Fitness.

Chicago Marathlon Mile 20.5

Upon finishing my athletic collegiate career, I competed in the 2005 Chicago Marathon, for fun!  A few weeks after the marathon my father asked me if I was interested in doing triathlons competitively, my reply was ‘I don’t have a bike’.  I got my bike as a graduation/ Christmas gift that year.  I started riding continuously my March.Roadrunner=Roadrash

I competed in my first triathlon in May 2006 in Columbia. MO.  After my second triathlon, Memphis in May, I was hooked.  I was Age Group 20-24 National Champion in 2006 and qualified to compete in Age Group Worlds in Lausanne, Switzerland.  I even had my first crash in a race, I was the only one!

Treasure Island Podium 07

This past year, 2007, was my rookie year as a professional triathlete! I have traveled all over the United States and even a few times out of country.  Made podium in ITU Kelowna and made it to my first world cup in Eilat, Israel. It has been a wonderful experience and I am looking forward to next season!

I have recently been accepted on the USAT Elite Developmental Program for this upcoming 2008 season!
