My dad made a statement on the phone last Saturday that “I had not, not finished a race before.”  At first I was like ‘yeah dad, i am sure I can think of one.’  I started really thinking about it today and he is right.  I have never NOT finished a race! After the realization I thought that was awesome, then I was disappointed that my streak was over.  Oh well, I guess streaks were meant to be broken.

You may say that I guess I have never crashed in a race before, but if you know my history I crashed in my 3rd ever triathon (2006) and still finished.  As well as a non-triathlon event, my college track teammates remenber that one.  My picture ended up on the cover of the DesMoines Register, after my fall in the 3000m steeple-chase at Drake Relays (2002),  It was a great picture but slightly humiliating.
